Sustainable Quality

At Esmark Finch Print & Packaging we commit to a sustainable future.  We want to develop our business in a way that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

By embracing digital printing technology, we reduce environmental impact by minimising waste, energy consumption, and harmful emissions associated with traditional printing processes.

At Esmark Finch Print & Packaging, we believe in leading by example. By prioritising sustainability in our manufacturing process, we are setting a new standard for the industry. Our dedication to sustainability and innovation allows us to produce some of the most sustainable and compostable packaging without compromising the high-quality products contained within.

Plant Power 100% renewable energy

Our printing, cutting and glueing equipment are powered from electricity purchased from the national grid that is 100% renewable.

We are a low emissions operation. 98% Reduction.

Our total facility energy consumption per annum, is 45.08 tonnes of carbon. 98% of this carbon is avoided by purchasing 100% renewable energy. Therefore, our net Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions (Carbon Footprint) of less than 1 tonne per annum. (based on 12 month data 2022-2023)

100% Compostable paper & board

All paper and board substrates used for our print are from managed sources and all our paper materials are PEFC or FSC certified. This provides reassurance to our clients that their products are verifiable and from legal and sustainable sources. The board we use to produce boxes is officially certified commercially compostable. Green Leaf certification – suitable for brown bin. (see fsc.org / pefc.org for further information)

Recycled Toner inks

All toner inks used in our operation are supplied in recycled cartridges and once used, the toner cartridges are collected by the manufacturer Xerox for continued re-use and recycling. 11kWh of electricity is saved per toner cartridge recycled. (Defra 2020, average plastic)

Low Transport Emissions EV

Both our delivery and sales fleet are E.V. Electric vehicle running costs can be as little as 20% of the cost of a similar size diesel engine. (SEAI.ie EV for business) . When subcontractors deliver on our behalf, we use only operations that can offer at least  a percentage of their fleet as EV’s.

Sustainable Living

Our employees are encouraged to cycle and carpool, to reduce our carbon footprint in the communities around us, where feasible. This is supported with a bicycle parking facility and work schedule agreements.

All our employees have achieved their *PASS certification in Sustainability, displaying a commitment throughout the organisation to the well being of our future selves and organisations. (*Skillnet – Climate Ready Academy)
